March 31, 2024 - Similar to previous notes. Very nice, will develop further over the coming 10 years smoothing the acidity and adding some petroleum.

December 1, 2023 - Very nice Riesling. Dry, but not bone-dry. Minerals, some tropical fruit and citrus. As always, Molitor delivers a very good wine. Molitor is a master of achieving balance between acidity, minerality and sugar all the way from dry to sweet wines. Dry auslese is always a good experience coming from this producer.

April 15, 2023 - Drinking wines from Markus Molitor is always a pleasure. His wines are always very well balanced with a distinct acidity balanced by sugar in various amounts. The white capsule on this wine tells us that the wine is dry, a green capsule would have told us it is off-dry and a gold capsule represents a sweet wine.

Unlike many German winemakers, Molitor makes wine with various sweetness levels from the same grapes, meaning that an auslese can be dry as well as sweet. That is why the capsules have got different colours.

This auslese is rich and deep with distinct acidity, balanced by a hint of residual giving it a very good balance. It is likely to improve further with some cellaring making it even more harmonious. The nose reveals minerality, citrus and some green apple with a hint of petroleum despite the low age. The taste gives lemon, green apple, pineapple, minerals and a slightly salty finish where petroleum is starting to show. Rich and long. Excellent value.
