April 14, 2024 - Decanted for 6 hours prior to Sunday night dinner of grilled steaks. Belated anniversary wine. Believe it’s 54% CF, 27% CS and 19% ME. Wonderful blend - really coming into its own with the extended decant. Perfectly balanced and smooth.

August 12, 2022 - My fav of the 2 new wines tonight......crayon notes on the nose along with great cab franc florals as noted by others. A tad tight but it's a young, quality wine right now, it will only improve with time going forward......

August 12, 2022 - When pulling corks to prepare for the tasting the aromatics of the PB filled the room instantly. The Cab Franc soaring lift is incredible! On the palate the drying tannins make this juice a bit harsh to approach right now unless you have some fatty food to help prime the pump.

Plum, lavender, spice and bitter chocolate round out the palate. Sounds like there is a bit more Merlot on the horizon in 19 which I always welcome. This was fantastic and will reward patience via cellaring.

August 12, 2022 - Two hour double decant. Very very deep magenta color. Crayola crayons, pine needles, and black cherry on the youthful nose. Smooth, dry palate, with great acidity. Very firm tannins on the long finish.

First vintage from this winery. Francoise Peschon is the consulting winemaker. My score is mostly a placeholder because this is not yet in it’s drinking window. It’s a bit tight and herbal at the moment. Amazing structure.

MJP HOU hosted a wine-a-palooza that started with an official Almacerro tasting that was administered by Lindsay (General Manager). Awesome night of wine. We followed Almacerro with Maybach, Flint Knoll, Stone the Crows, Gaja, …

June 28, 2022 - Napa day trip (Adamvs, Almacerro) (Napa): Aromas of dark green pine and twigs, dark fruits with a some spice, light fresh plums, and very floral pink flowers. The nose in general was very aromatic. The pink flowers almost make the dark fruits appear lighter.

On the palate were streaks of deep, dark red fruits, similar dark greens from the nose, light and bright shiny minerals. The greens appear to fade with some air time.

The heat might've had some affect on the aromas and flavors. I might've enjoyed this a bit more if it were cooler around cellar temp and let it slowly come to room temp. It was quite toasty outside.
