January 24, 2017 - Had a second bottle of the 1990 Maranges. This is as good as it gets in my book, so I'm upping my score. It needed a moment, but about 45 min after opening the layers started to unfold, opening up like a crocus flower and pushing forward the fruit and spice.

June 23, 2016 - Wine with a Few Smaller Meals While in Burgundy; 6/21/2016-7/1/2016 (Cote d'Or (Mostly)): Ripe and nicely mature black fruit with moderate spice and some noteworthy smoked sausage character. Very good for 25+ yo Villages.

May 12, 2016 - Still held up at this late in the game...Spiced and perfumed aroma: white pepper, spent tobacco, carrion, wet für, with hints of sandalwood, candied fruit, clove, and just a tad of eucalyptus. Medium acidity, medium body, very subdued tannins. Lasting finish leaves you guessing. Classic.

March 6, 2015 - Drank it multiple times and the wine continued to improve. It started off with currant and berry taste for the past 10-yrs, but recently had switched to a classic 90 burg especially with the tennin softened. Worth the $ for classic Leroy especially it hasn't been overly priced until recently. Saving couple bottles for another 2-3 years.
