July 2, 2023 - After a twelve hour decant I began sipping. My first impression was that I was drinking a wine that was way too young, and probably not that great. Tannin is most definitely a factor. I sense that there is a bit of fruit in there, but it will be years before it emerges. So far no luck with this 2017 BDM vintage.

November 11, 2022 - Deep garnet in color. Nose of cherry, sandalwood, and vanilla. On the palate, black cherry, vanilla, and hints of clove and almond. Medium bodied and smooth. The finish is long and shows complexity. As it opens, more notes of black pepper on the finish. A very enjoyable wine and strikes me as a perfect pairing for veal.
