April 28, 2020 - drank at La Luna Melbourne with "the boys", this wine continues to age at glacial pace. it is rich , dense and fruit power packed and appears to just be entering a drinking window at 25 years old. its a freak. And a great wine for a blind tasting. Group gave it WOTN against some heavy competition.
and still a bargain in the auction scene if you can find it. But shhh dont tell anyone.....

March 15, 2012 - Without a doubt, the best WA Shiraz I’ve ever tried, with this bottle in perfect condition and drinking better than any of the many I’ve tried before. Wonderful complex sweet berried fruit has now taken over and the brazen oak of yesteryear has fully integrated, now playing a quite sensational second fiddle. This has everything you’re looking for in a maturing world class dry red wine - balance, finesse - controlled underlying power with incredible strains of delicacy and subtlety (the old iron fist in a velvet glove cliche.) Couple this with the finest structure and awesome length and you have an absolute joy to drink. Drink now - 2020. 95

December 6, 2002 - Auswine Christmas offline (Barmuda, Newtown): Brought by Andrew, who was prompted by Huon Hooke’s damning of this wine in the Herald liftout earlier in the week. And, lets face it, no sane person could deny that the nose, even at 7 years of age, is almost entirely oak! Hidden underneath are some inky fruit and blackcurrant flavours which are apparent on the palate. Despite the massive nose, the tannins are very fine, which serves to lessen their impact somewhat. It’s a big wine, and it hasn’t come together yet. Whether the acid will hold it together long enough for the oak nose to dissipate further is a moot point. I think the jury’s still out on this, although it will probably live long as a novelty wine in any case!
