  October 24, 2022 - Had this with MJP and wives in Houston. Very nice of MJP to host. I adore this wine, but was a bit more skeptical of the 2020 vintage. Long story short, it still manages to pull the concentration and acidity together and make a really terrific chard, but it's not quite up there with 18 or 19 from recent memory. Very pure, with great depth and a bit of a cutting acidic edge, it still needs time to integrate the oak and other elements, but should be singing in a few years. Definitely decant this white.

  October 21, 2022 - My first Kongsgaard The Judge. Generously shared by Cristal 2000. I’ve seen the label and I’ve heard the hype. I’ve been pretty meh on California Chardonnay until as of late. I consider myself more of a Chablis guy but I’ve had some offerings that are changing my mind. The Judge has a good amount of body and oak but somehow manages not to be overdone.
  
  It would be interesting to try this wine with a good amount of bottle age. Assuming that these wines age well. Thanks again for your generosity C2.
