May 7, 2024 - Clear, medium golden with greene hue, developing

Nose is clean, medium intense with aromas of grilled lemon, red apples, bergamot/earl grey, white peach, apricot, honey, lilly's, deep complexity, developing

Palate is dry, high acidty, medium alcohol, medium body and flavour intensity, aromas very similat to the nose, red apples, grilled lemon, bergamot, stonefruit, honey, floral notes, very long finish

Extremely well balanced, long lingering finish, not that intense, but deep complexity and high concentration and dry-extract. Outstanding quality. 94p long drinking window, but probably no room for improvement

April 21, 2024 - Ye Olde Riesling Dinner (SDK - Castro): I actually had this a couple of months ago, and I felt back then it was a little woody on the finish. This bottle was much better though: very subtle white flower on the nose while the palate is loaded with minerals. It has an elegant, perhaps slightly waxy, mouthfeel and excellent tension and energy, with a hit of tart acidity and spiciness on the finish. No overt oak flavor, though the spice at the end may be a product of the barrel influence (this is aged in large oak cask for 25 years).

April 21, 2024 - Ye Olde Rieslings: Subtle, elegant, charming. Loads of depth and perfect balance - this wine thrums with acidity, herbs, yellow plums, umami, golden raisin, and a beeswax note that reminds me a bit of the LdH whites. Super fresh and remarkably light in color still. Medium bodied, but layered and super-textural. A stealthy crescendo of flowers and yellow plums on the finish. Really deserves to be studied over the course of an evening. WOTN for most.

    March 26, 2024 - Glass: Zalto Bordeaux
Popped and poured, drunk over two days. Clear, medium youthful golden color. Seemed more like a 8-10 year old wine.
Beautiful fresh, medium+ intense developing nose. Floral notes, herbs, ripe stone fruit, lots of crushed stones. Complex and multi-layered. You can feel that it is fully developed, but somehow incredibly ageless.
On the palate dry, with a wonderful high, ripe acidity. 13% abv. Grippy tannin. Lots of crushed stones, salt, yellow stone fruit, floral notes and fresh herbs. Wonderful texture, great balance, nice phenolic grip and a surprising tension and energy! Long, floral and fruity finish. Beautiful wine at its full peak, but I would assume it stays on this level for at least another 5+ years. Great! 94-95

January 27, 2024 - Potpourri of (Mostly) Old World Riesling (Los Gatos, California): Medium yellow. Deep, mellow, low pitched aromas without any petrol. Medium to full bodied. Completely dry stone fruit drenched with soil. Interesting herbal thread, high acidity, grapefruit on the finish. Impossibly fresh and not yet fully mature. Great dry Riesling.
