  January 18, 2024 - 2nd of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, as June bottle noted in detail, needs more time to come together, 10+ years. VGI (17) for now and drinkable with some pleasure.

  June 17, 2023 - 1st of 12, decanted two hours, perfect cork and level - dark,reasonably translucent ruby, little development; attractive, layered nse, black fruit and spice, some sous bois, classy; fullish for 06 Burg, edgy, ok length and persistence, not particularly concentrated, obtrusive harsh tannins fighting against the fruit and largely winning, if it rounds out with more time with palate more in tune with nose expect substantial upgrade, 10+ years. VGI (17).....Grivot wines take a lot of patience and don't always work out! Indeed, half decanted into a half bottle and re-corked to be drunk another day replaced by more attractive Frantin Malconsorts 02. 2nd half little changed a week later playing second fiddle to more generous and nuanced JJ Confuron 99 Beaux Monts.

  August 17, 2021 - Had a few 06s recently and this topped the pack. Good secondary nose of better than average perfume. Still dark but softened palate of robust deep fruit and pretty spice. For my taste drinking well now.

  March 17, 2021 - Opened 6 hours before drinking and slow oxed. Really wonderful nose of black cherry, strawberry and sousbois in the rain. On the palate rather harsh at first, suffers from that 2006 thing of bitter tannins. But lots of fruit and overall still primary. I’m just not sure about these 2006s and how they will age - if the fruit fades bad the tannins persist they won’t be pleasant.

  October 31, 2020 - A bitter-sweet experience: the nose is such a promise, powerful, complex; there's ripe dark fruit, sous-bois and some headiness, maybe a touch of VA. A sip reveals the snag: harsh, drying tannins. Yet another illustration that 2006 has produced quite hard wines that, if not enjoyed young, have a hard time coming around (if ever). Very long though. A pity. Will time heal some of this? I'll make a last attempt in five years.
