December 24, 2019 - Perfectly aged pinot noir, late release from the domaine. Brick red colour with elegant sous bois and mix of secondary and tertiary flavours. Tannin molten and fully integrated. good acidity and length. Corton really needs 20+ years to show well. Lovely condition is already a blessing. Finish could be longer. Perfect to drink now 16.5/20

January 14, 2017 - A more advanced and aged bottle vs the one I opened last year. More medicinal and secondary despite the colour doesn't suggest so. Given the last bottle I do have a much higher expectation than this. Still drinkable but nothing really striking. 15.5/20

April 9, 2016 - Bought from recent cellar release in 2014. Opened an hour ago before serving. A bit balsamic & secondary on the nose to start, tannin quite firm on the palate. Medium brownish red colour showing clear sign of age. Nose cleans up a lot after 15-20 mins in glass, getting more fragrant pinot nose with secondary development. Tannin soften and even more after pairing with the braised sea cucumber and sauce rich in mild umami. Quite bright fruits behind the tannin. Acidity not over, a very balanced wine. Good complexity though not a super one. Still going well in the next 2 hours. Medium aftertaste, I would wish it's longer though. A fully matured wine that shows no signs of downslope. Suggest open 2 hours before serving - if your bottle condition is as good as this one. 16.5+/20

March 5, 2016 - La Paulée de San Francisco - Gala Dinner (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Small glass, brief note. Fully mature but still charming and enjoyable. Modest length.

April 17, 2015 - At the Buck Inn, Maunby, with Peter Sidebotham, Ian Russell et al. Ex Domaine, from Sebastian Thomas, 2014. Decanted 3 hours. Heavy deposit. Startling deep colour, youthfully vigorous in appearance and on the nose. Some caramel initially, soon dispersed, leaving a thrilling and mature wine, penetrating and satisfying. Bags of life left in this one.
