March 29, 2020 - Bottle stood up for a month. Fine sediment at bottom of the bottle.

Nose is a little reticient. Medium/light weighted with silky texture. Medium+ concentration of pure dark fruit (black raspberry, savory cherry), sous bouise. Expansive in the mouth with a long finish Puts a smile on my face.

With more air a bit of cherry woodspice burn on the finish. With more air (or wine?) this smoothed out mostly, but the woodspices are still there. The last glass with sediment run through a coffee filter tastes harsher than the rest of the bottle.

October 18, 2018 - Les Suchots tasting (The Wolf): Really nice. Developing, exciting, fresh, spicy. This kind of has it all for an adolescent Suchots. Doesn't show the density or tannins I might expect in this vintage. Toasted coffee bean / cacao notes as it warms. My 1/8

October 18, 2018 - nose - coffee, Asian spice, smoky, dark plum
mouth - seductive, rich, and sappy, expansive on the palate. complex red and dark fruits with great verve, balance, and finish. This wine can easily last 10 more years. Tonight it was singing.

December 25, 2017 - in a good place, needs about an our of air, classic vosne spice, deep flavors and very well balanced, finish goes on and on, lovely.

July 13, 2017 - Farewell Filippo, Il Duomo table (La Trompette, London): Served a little warmer than it should be, and started off a little mute on the nose. Just gorgeous though. Beautifully rich and rounded on the attack. Silky-textured weight. Real luxe. Just lovely. Evaporated far too quickly. *****

(Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots) Medium red color with pale meniscus; tart red fruit, lovely Burgundian nose, with rosehips; tight, tart, rosehips, mineral, tart red fruit palate with high acidity; medium finish 91+ pts. (group's WOTF)

(Arnoux Robert Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots) Purer and denser nose than the 98 Corvées Pagets, higher toned too. The palate is fresh and is one of those crescendo wines that builds with intensity. Still primary but very, very long and understated - I'm quite impressed by this.
