May 7, 2023 - Vinetasters: Mt. Veeder (Park Ridge, IL): Served double blind. Clearly shows some age on it, with some cabernet pyrazines as well. Dried dates and leathery notes; leaner on the palate, this almost reminds me a bit of a youngish Rioja. There's a slight browning to this, making me think that this was older than it actually was. A somewhat hollow midpalate. My 4th, group's 1st.

February 24, 2023 - Consistent with previous tastings. Deep color, blackberries, black cherries and licorice in the nose with hints of tobacco and leather. Black currants, blackberries, and chocolate in the flavor. Well balanced, full bodied, nice acidity and complexity and a long finish.

January 28, 2023 - Zero signs of any deterioration Still nice deep color with lots of black fruits in the nose and flavor. Black cherries, blackberries, blueberries, and licorice in the nose. Blackberries, blackcurrants, and chocolate and hints of coffee and leather in the flavor. A well balanced, full bodied wine with nice acidity and complexity and a long finish.

October 22, 2022 - My last bottle. See previous notes..only change in notes would be that there was a little less cherry. After an hour, this turned into an amazing wine. Opened with some amazing heavyweight wines at a 75th birthday event and this was wine of the night on the CA red side. Only regret is that I wish I bought more of it.
