January 30, 2022 - Pop and pour, it took a while for fruit to come out, about 20 minutes. I dont think it could be kept longer. Was very good once it was in glass for a while. Prob should have decanted an hour first.

March 19, 2021 - Decanted for an hour. A bit funky at the start. Beautiful wine.

August 23, 2020 - Beginning to fade and the fruit feels like a dying python that still is wrapped around my chest. Maybe this bottle was not as well preserved as my last one, regardless it was still an interesting one. Dark fruits and some leather with a drying tannic finish. The heat was still lingering after all these years making we wonder what a bruiser it must have been in its youth. Drink soon if you have any.

November 23, 2019 - Big and beautiful. No heat and deep without jammy. Excellent.

January 12, 2019 - Totally agree with Mr. Overthehill. A big one that has a long life. Wait a couple years for next one.

(Big Basin Vineyards Syrah Rattlesnake Rock) Very dark black red violet color; lovely, focused, lifted, tart roasted plum, mineral, charcoal, dried black fruit nose; tasty, tight but poised, tart black fruit, roasted black fruit, tar, dried black fig, light black pepper palate; needs 1-2 years and should go 25-plus; long finish (they started extended macerations on the Syrah this vintage)
