June 29, 2020 - Maison Dakota session. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is not clean, with aromas of bretty animal leather, funky barnyard earth, red cherries, underlying florals. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet earth, red cherries, red plum, red licorice, sweet herbs, animal leather. Long finish.
Very good quality. For the brett-tolerant, this is lovely. Drinking in great spot now, should be peak. The juxtaposition of the brett funk and elegant red fruits is interesting, if not a little incongruous though.
Bertheau's Chambolle 1er I read is from the 1er plots of Les Baudes, Les Groseilles, and Les Noirots.

April 13, 2019 - Not much change since my previous bottle about 16 months ago, if anything this bottle was even fresher. Mid red colour. Bright cranberry, wild cherry and floral notes. Tannins were very fines. Mineral notes on decent finish. Very enjoyable.

December 25, 2018 - Mid red colour but very bright. Bright cranberry and red cherry motes with floral notes. Tannins are completely resolved yet the wine carries on well with good extract and just a touch of mineral notes. Very enjoyable elegant Burgundy.

November 17, 2017 - Dark fruits right out of the bottle. Pretty florals developed with time. Some earth, mushroom, barnyard. Nicely mature but still plenty of fruit left. Not sure it will get better. Darker fruit and Probably a touch better than the 2002 charmes.
