Community Tasting Notes 4

September 1, 2011 - mmmm....could smell the age right off the bat. Very brambly, dark and earthy. Not esp fruity for a Jorge Ordonez wine, but still delicious and enjoyable.

It still has a decent amount of tannins left. I didn't like enough to re-buy and see how it ages, but very enjoyable.

June 4, 2011 - Wasn't expecting anything great, but this wine had been pretty good in the past. This was a great bottle, with quite a lot of structure, excellent fruit, and enough complexity to make it a very interesting wine. Drink up.

February 19, 2005 - Nope on the aging thing or my tastes have changed too much. Good fruit, but little else going on. Right at PAR.

June 12, 2003 - Excellent. Started very tight and acidic, but 90 minutes opened it up to very full and rich. Good fruit, still tight and strong tannic backbone. Elements of herbs, olives and rock. Well-balanced and very nice long and clean finish. Possibly to merit higher rating after a couple of years.

Paired: Roast chicken, garlic bread, salad w/ boursin dressing
