March 17, 2023 - Magnum best bottle (Restaurant Holz und Feuer, Kirchheim, Germany): Glass: Sophienwald
From Magnum. Popped and poured. Clear, deep golden color. Fresh, fruity and floral nose with some Amalfi citrus, sweet fruit.
On the palate the classic prototype of Wachau style Smaragd. Lots of residual sugar, very creamy, lots of sweet fruit, dense, fresh, mineral, probably a bit hot, long and sweet finish. If I would drink it alone, I would probably rated it higher, but today it lost a bit against his elder brother :) 93-941 person found this helpful Comment -

August 13, 2022 - Superb wine. This is aging wonderfully. The spice/botrytis/opulent fruit is still there in spades along with some burnished savoriness and other mature elements, and the balance remains outstanding. One of the best dry Rieslings I've had in some time.
