April 20, 2022 - Some bricking on the edges as this wine approaches 20 years. First hour strong tar, tobacco, leather on the nose. After an hour or so started to open up. Palate was relaxed with some acidity and tannins left. Perfumed spices on the mouth with some rose petals. Medium finish. Very pleasant but not distinguishing. Enjoyable barolo but lacking the finishing gear of my favorites.

March 4, 2021 - Three hour decant. Consistent with notes from 2018. Prune plums, cigar box and baking spices on the nose. Full bodied. Soft and mellow mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and multi-layered with dominant notes of plum, wet stone and blackberries. Medium long plum and white pepper finish. A very nice wine.

August 29, 2018 - Four hour decant. Long slow legs , brick red rim and medium-red/orange core. Very aromatic with notes of prune plums, cigar box and baking spices. Full bodied. Nicely balanced and multi-layered with dominant notes of plum, wet stone and blackberries. The medium finish had a spicy pepper theme with some dark fruits which was quite enjoyable. Overall a delightful wine. Hard to see how this can improve with further bottle age. Time to drink up I think.

September 11, 2015 - Cherry , plums, violets with leather and murkiness. Decanted for two hours plus- within first hour it seemed flavour was trapped. It opened up and enjoyed it greatly with truffle olio linguini- side order of corned beef.
