October 26, 2023 - Burgundy Grand Cru Dinner (The Morris, San Francisco): Light ruby. Similar weight as the 2002 Drouhin, which is to say quite elegant for this cru. Deep dull red fruit, a hint of green, and outstanding length and persistence. Wonderful and continued to expand in the glass.

August 11, 2023 - WOW! Definitely the greatest Clos Vougeot of my life drinking Burgundy (40+ years)! Bought originally at the SAQ in Montreal and stored locally perfectly since. Just gorgeous -- a model and a monument! Still has years ahead but wonderful right now too.

October 11, 2022 - A seriously great showing for this wine, amazing orange rind and Vosne spice notes jumping out of the glass, still the colour was quite youthful and the palate had great balance of acidity, nice phenolic ripeness it seems, some tannins to shed still (probably on its way up but so great already), touch of antisceptic notes on the nose too. A real winner. Side by side an also great Rousseau CSJ 2000 a delight of a pair of mature red Burgs.

May 17, 2022 - Mugneret Gibourg Clos Vougeot (Medlar (London)): Round red fruit waiting to burst, some savouriness, polished. Excellent but probably feels prime time in 5 years plus? Possibly the only wine of the evening that didn't feel ready for prime time drinking yet.
