December 1, 2021 - This bottle was procured direct from the estate in 2009. Me & wife had the 1999 during lunch that time (during our honeymoon) and decided to buy 1 to bring back. Lovely color - garnet core with slightly rims & long legs. Nose; cassis, red berries, pencil lead and hint of eucalyptus. Still so intense after 22 years. Great elegance tannins, depth and complexity. This was an excellent companion with our pan seared Aussie Wagyu Zabuton

September 17, 2021 - Great wine. See previous notes. Continues to hold with no evidence of decline. Wonderful example of what WA can produce.

January 2, 2021 - Didn't care for the nose at first but any dodgy odors blew off after a couple of hours. Nose of carbon paper, tomato leaves, pork rind and almonds. Very fine tannins in the mouth with strawberry puree, burnt toffee and kalamata olives. Finish of bitter chocolate and turkish delight. Marvelous food wine with good enough balance to keep going all these years. Very enjoyable now, maybe a bit past its peak but still has its charms.
