  June 28, 2020 - The 2004 Produttori Riservas: Asili wins by a nose (Magnum Society, Wellington, New Zealand): Served single blind. Picked as likely the Moccagatta. A lighter, garnet colour, appearing the most mature on the table. More savoury aromas. Earth, dry brush, tobacco, dried herbs with some rich, ripe red fruit. Also, some bacon and yeasty Marmite elements. The Moccagatta was described by Barbara as showing "some wild, feral notes". On palate, in my view, a small step up from the Pajè. Again, showing that lovely, fresh 2004 Barbaresco acidity. Seeming a considerably lighter weight than the wines to come. It had a nice opulent entry to the palate, but then it fell a little short on the finish. Some oxidated notes. Soil, spice, chocolate and funk. However, the Cru complemented particularly well the braised beef dish. A wine to drink sooner rather than later. My rating 6/7, group rating 7/7.

Still a bit of tannin in the back, but a roast chicken and duck fat potatoes brought out crunchy cherries and elegant medium weight presence. A very pretty wine, with years to go, it is a wine meant to savor over a good meal with good friends.

  September 28, 2019 - Drukket over 3t. Litt duftstum og strukturslapp ved åpning. Etter 1 time lukter det kirsebær, roser og snev av pastis. Struktur og balanse kommer seg. 2t etter åpning er den fløyelsmyk, balansert, med typeriktig lukt og smak med litt modning. Tannin uten "skarpe" kanter og lineær, ren smak fra anslag til slutt. På ett fint sted i modningen nå og drikkeklar med 2t luft. Jeg drikker resten av mine flasker medio 5 år.a

  September 10, 2019 - Similar to first bottle but lots of rose on the nose after a couple of hours of air in the glass.
