April 22, 2024 - Two weeks in France; 4/12/2024-4/24/2024: Off the list at Tan Dinh. Fantastic selection but prices here were mostly marked to market, glad to have found this for 185€. Sweet, autumnal dark red fruit on both the nose and the palate; agree with a previous note that mentioned surmaturité. Oak and tannins quite resolved with delicate (but not tertiary) floral notes. Always a great feeling to drink a good Burgundy at its peak. On a side note, the owner was really friendly and said he has been collecting wine since 1968!

September 10, 2021 - Chambolle-themed lunch at SSG. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, ruby colour with garnet rim. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of light licorice, red spice ?floral, pretty red cherries. Developing.
On the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium- tannins that put on some structure with more air, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red cherries, light licorice, red spices, prickly brambly bush, fresh stony minerality. Long finish.
Very good quality. Probably just entering into a drinking window, though it certainly still has a good runway for development. Fresh and very drinkable, with just a bit of the structure showing better with more air. Evidently most drinkable of the Chambolle lunch - the only wine to be finished.

February 7, 2019 - Dinner at Jade Court (Chicago, IL): This is drinking in a really nice zone right now (I am guessing a lot of 2007s are). The nose is lovely, with an emphasis on perfume and delicacy, while the palate actually comes across as stronger and more potent than the nose would have you think. Nonetheless, this is a delicate wine, and very honest to the commune. For my palate, definitely in the zone now.

March 27, 2018 - Some maturity in the colour

Nose of violets and spice, raspberries / blackberries in the background, very nice for "meditation"

Medium bodied, good acidity and very good length with a spicy finish.

Probably at its peak right now, but will hold some years
