  December 18, 2017 - Stellenbosch and Franschhork 2017 (IN DRAFT); 12/17/2017-12/22/2017 (Stellenbosch): Very clinical initially. Gentle attack with nice heavy tannins (T7). Dark and steely with minerality from the mid palate onwards. Then does soften in the end again.

  December 18, 2017 - Second wine at the Reserve Tasting at Waterford with Justin. Deep garnet edges with a ruby core. Dark plums on the nose with spices, light greenery and licorice. Solid acidity and medium tannins (6/10) with a medium body. Well integrated with stewed dark berries and solid minerality on the backend. Long finish. Drink till 2020.
  
  Made up of 95% Shiraz and 5% Mourvèdre. Aged for 17 months in young French oak barrels and 3,500 cases produced.

  March 13, 2010 - Red berries, spices and green peppers, colour like bilberry juice. Some sweetness, and refreshing tannins. This wine is likely better in 2-3 years but is eminently drinkable right now, and at a somewhat better value than comparable Rhônes in the price range.
