November 22, 2018 - Bought two of these on release eight years ago. I wanted to find something different to go with Thanksgiving dinner and decided on this. Great choice I believe, as this was a great pairing, that didn't overpower the bird or the sides. Cherries, some spices and light chocolate on the nose. The taste was subtle cherries, strawberries and a hint of black currant. Delicious and strong finish to complete the mouthfeel. One of the best CDPs I;ve had in a while.

July 29, 2018 - Opened for the species occasion of Sunday night pizza,

-color: deep garnet body with ruby edges
-Body:by appearance this is a big wine and the 15% abv bears that out on the palate
-Aroma:ripe boozy strawberry and blackberry, red fruits, bramble and garrigue, cassis and creme de cassis liqueur.
-Palate: ripe blackberry, black currant, and cherry with a spicy finish that trails for ages with ripe, sun ripened fruit liqueur. Tannins are medium - very relaxed from years of aging. Acidity is medium to medium plus.

This is by far one of my favorite CdPs that I’ve been aging and it’s very much worth the wait.

February 26, 2018 - Weekly tasting group RWP #277; Northern vs Southern Rhone (@ My place): Expressive bouquet with still a lot of cherries, chocolate and good garrigue. On the palate a juicy wine with a firm dose of sweetness and also good acidity. Herbs and spices and tannin with still a good bite. Good length. This wine can be cellared for another 3+ years.

August 6, 2017 - This delicious CNdP has aged minimally in the last six years. Decanted. Clear, medium (+) ruby with some garnet on the rim. Thick, viscous dark legs. The nose is clean, with medium (+) aromas of red fruit, black fruit and dried herbs. The palate is dry but fruit-laden. The oak is unobtrusive. Medium to medium (+) plus acidity, tannins and alcohol (then label actually says 15%), with everything very well integrated. Full bodied, with medium plus flavor intensity and great length on the finish. It is probably at - or close to - its peak, but with at least another five years and probably more to go.

(Domaine La Barroche Signature Chateauneuf du Pape) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-medium/dark; NOSE-a hint of petrol; an aggressive tannic; a little ham; gamey; not feeling this; PALATE-good firm tannins; a little heat on the back-end; kind of awkward and disjointed on the finish; none of the typical strawberry and pepper you typically get from Grenache; GUESS-$23; JR-93; RP-92; WS-92; GV-83

(Barroche Signature Chateauneuf du Pape) #3; VaynerPAZZZ (based on QPR); COLOR-medium; NOSE-quite tight; a tad of dark black plum on the back-end; PALATE-good, but a little disjointed; a little one dimensional as well; I like the intensity of this wine; these '07 CdP are really lean and focused; some good black fruit and pepper, but not as complex; big wine; WS-92; GV-90
