March 26, 2011 - Pretty, fresh nose, with aromas of red currants, cedar, raspberry and vanilla-laced tobacco. A welter-weight wine, crisp, clean and appetizing, with delicate lightly chalky tannins, flavors mirroring the nose. Well balanced, with freshness of fruit and a delicate, if short, smoky finish. A point at the moment, totally ready to drink, and certainly not to hold given the synthetic closure. But right now, very pretty.

November 1, 2008 - pooped and poured but consumed over 3 hours. light ruby with slight bricking at the rim. red fruits and some brett on the nose, just enough to keep it interesting... cherry, red currant and some old world horse blanket on the plalate, decent fruit, and bright acidity keep this very balanced. it has surprising complexity and i'm very impressed by this 8 year old long island red (with a plastic cork no less). this could easily have aged a number of years longer... very good.

October 27, 2007 - Deep ruby color. Nose began quite closed, but opened up after about 1 - 1 1/2 hours in the glass. Aromas of coffee, blackberries and rich earthiness. On the palate there's a bright black cherry note in with the coffee, light to medium bodied, with a squeeze of lemon as well. Fine tannins.

February 23, 2007 - BDX blends offline (blind) (Fairway): humbling - had no clue what this is although i've had it before. but in my defence this tasted nothing like my previous note... the nose was excellent - perfume and sweet ripe frut, and the acidity was good but the middle fell out for me.. i thought cold climate - washington. this seemed less evolved that the '02... last bottle i had was more evolved... who knows right? (plastic cork vs reg cork)

February 22, 2007 - Much more youthful than the 2002 in terms of its forward fruitiness, but it shows more interesting tertiary aromatics with its pungent animale scents. Here, too, the alcohol's a little firm but the fruit is plush and finishes long.
