May 13, 2017 - This is, to me, not nearly as interesting as the 2007 Peters I drank recently. This has rich, ripe California pinot fruit....and, that is kind of the problem. It is very rich and ripe, with fairly hefty alcohol and just doesn't have nearly the complexity or elegance of the Peters, which is much more Burgundian. Don't get me wrong - I like this fine. It is a really nice Cali pinot, but a bit to ripe and over-the-top to be excellent, for my palate, and not what I want when I want a pinot. Too heavy. Fans of Martinelli and Marcassin pinots will find a lot to like here. By the way - not at all over-the-hill; this is still very fresh, at least from my cellar.

June 20, 2015 - Mature now, fully integrated. Red fruits transitioning into secondary notes. Easy to drink though not tremendously complicated.

September 16, 2014 - very different experience with this wine than the previous note... felt more dark fruited... noticed more baking spices from oak... tannins and acidity have integrated fully... a bit more warmth on the finish. I was a bit disappointed but i guess last time i tasted this i thought it was better to drink versus hold... turns out that was about right.

February 13, 2014 - Pretty red-blue fruit forward nose with ripe strawberry and raspberry. Definitely a lively young citrus aspect - orange zest or peel. Also some spice and a bit of minerality to round it out. The palate is tasty as well, but to me, the 14.2% alcohol shows too much. There is lots of tasty strawberry/raspberry fruit, the orange zest and the spice are there, but the focus and precision are not there for me from the heat. The finish shows it even more - it's not bad, just not great to me because of that. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 4/6, Finish - 4/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 14/20.
