March 10, 2020 - Pretty nice, if just lacking some of the purity and elegance of the superb 2002 Jadot CSJ that we had alongside. I loved the nose on this - with its deep draws of dark cherries laced with earth, meat and a rather pronounced toastiness. This somehow added to, rather than distracted from the attractiveness of the nose though. The palate had a lovely richness to it for a 2007, obviously extracted, but not too overwhelmingly so, with rich flavours of red cherries and darker berries seasoned with a good bit of spice, earth and mineral, this trailing into a toasty, meaty finish. It lacked a bit of authority on the backpalate, going off in a rather watery end. Otherwise, quite a delicious wine, if not quite built in a style that I like. This was starting to drink nicely too.

February 6, 2020 - Coravin sample. First bottle of four.
Medium garnet. Bright fruit - dark cherries, bramble, clove, liquorice, Chinese tea, barnyard. Developing. Dry, high acidity, med+ tannins, a little drying but fine, very bright fresh fruit on the palate, long finish. Outstanding. Oak well integrated, plenty of fruit concentration. Has the potential for further aging but is drinking well now.

July 18, 2019 - Tasted single blind (guess the producer in Clos St Jacques) – The richest and most extracted wine of the lineup, rich muddled dark berries, extracted wood tannins and green tannins from the grape. Muscular expression of Clos St Jacques, which I thought was Bruno Clair. 5th Place (86/100)

June 29, 2019 - Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner with Musicians (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Small glass, brief note. Big black cherry with good concentration for this 2007 vintage, but this didn't seem particularly pristine. Off bottle?

May 11, 2019 - En Remilly & Clos St Jacques night (110 Taillevent London): After having this poured in my glass I felt it was sex in a glass. Such full ripe cherry I took a few sips and the sample served was gone very fast. When I had a repour I let it sit for a while and while I had felt it could have been a Rousseau or Fourrier initially it unfortunately died down a bit with air and became less and less interesting. Shame! Still my #3/5 in this flight but while at first I would have been in the purchasing camp my latest impression left me a non-buyer still. If I had this I would look to drink soon and serve pnp. The fruit is dying.
