August 18, 2019 - popped and poured. Drank over 3 hours. Enjoyed this one more than the last. Lots of good strong fruit. Beginning to develop some secondary characteristics. Never going to be a showstopper but quite enjoyable. Would decant for 30-60 minutes at this stage. Should drink well for another 5+ years.

February 2, 2018 - Opened and let breathe in the bottle for one hour. Drank over the next two. A decent Volnay. Not going to overly impress but enjoyable and satisfying. This improved and added weight and complexity with time. I would fully decant for 1-2 hours the next bottles. Will never be an outstanding wine but should be enjoyable for the next 5+ years.

May 21, 2011 - Slightly funky, definitely pinot fruit. Good structure and length of fruit

March 5, 2011 - This is clear Jadot style and express all the elegance and balance you'd expect. In fact the nose is all about an evolving aromatic harmony rather than on focus and precision. Nonetheless. this shows great purity of fruit maintaining outstanding vibrancy throughout. On the palate same story, this bursts with flavour but in a sort of restrained way, never showing off its depth and concentration abruptly. I love its uptight and vibrant character which with it outstanding balance between depth of fruit, bright acidity and a rather silky tannic structure make this a very serious drink. Rebuy: yes.

May 12, 2010 - Farewell French Dinner for Christine (Coco 500, San Francisco): Clear light color. Brambly cranberry nose with wintergreen and licorice. Fine, delicate Volnay weight with a touch of wood. Tart black cherry to blackberry fruit, high acidity, outstanding focus and clarity. Will surely improve but not too shabby right now.
