August 15, 2018 - Beef and Vosne (Holland Park): Last magnum of the night, this was very good. The nose was clearly different from the Vosne wines, with an earthier, loamier tone, and deeper shades to its sweet blueberry and gentle spice notes. The palate was really nice too, with crunchy, pure flavours of blueberries, coconut and spice lined with notes of mineral, then fine-boned tannins and really fresh acidity. This had lovely definition and a good amount of depth for a 2007 - the only issue I had was that the flavours all seemed just a bit tightly-wound and not as generous as I would have liked. Not a world beater then, but still a very good wine. I thought it had just started falling asleep, like quite a few 2007s I have tried recently. It would be interesting to try this one again in a decade or so.

June 26, 2018 - Stems, sandalwood, herbs and violets. Palate was four squared without the grand cru finesse and complexity. The sweetness of fruit was muted. Laurent has not gotten it right in this vintage yet.

Grand vin. 94 pts

March 5, 2016 - La Paulée de San Francisco - Gala Dinner (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Small glass, late night, brief note. Bright red fruit with very good balance and a lighter softness that makes it charming right now.

December 27, 2015 - Ruby. Captivating nose of sous bois, cherry, blueberry, and menthol. Medium-light body, with flavors of cherry and menthol. Contra the nose, the palate lacks persistence. The finish is short with tart fruit. This is a nice Clos de la Roche, particularly its bouquet, but it doesn't seem to have the structure for the long haul.

May 10, 2012 - Cherry, spice, earth and a touch of iron on the nose. The palate is medium bodied and well balanced, but I'd like a touch more intensity and persistence. Overall quite good but was hoping for it to be a bit better.
