September 25, 2010 - An interesting, dark varietal with lots of SW France character - barnyard, lavender and other herbes Provencal, garrigue. Came across as more Rhone-like than when I tasted this over a year ago, when I felt more dark, tannic, almost cab-like qualities.

July 15, 2010 - Cedar, mushrooms, cab-franc like fireplace tones. A nice wine, but geez rather overpriced for the experience I feel at $30+. While I'm sure the effort in the vineyard probably justifies the price, I can just get so much more bang for my buck.

March 2, 2010 - God fun stuff. Rich but clean and pure with an exciting rusticity. Violets, pu-erh tea, blackberries complete with brambles. Mineral dust.

November 9, 2009 - Very light color - almost burgundy like - where you could see your fingers through the glass.
Nice acidity, with a tart, cranberry taste. It's quite light, but in a nice way, and it has a beautiful texture that makes me not want to swallow. The finish was not that strong, but it was a great reason to go back for another drink!
Decanted and drank over seven hours, and it was still drinking well at the end.

5/22/2009 (link)(Plageoles "Le Duras") This wine had a very dark color with a lovely nose of minerals, black fruits, and an ashy gamey quality. Becomes more grapey with air. Lovely mouthfeel with pure, concentrated explosions of tiny berry fruits and a nice underpinning of mineral. Reminded be of Etna Rosso. Kind of had that dark, volcanic minerality. Sleek tannins but noticeable. Snappy lip-smacking acidity.Very pure and expressive wine. I really liked this a lot and think it will drink well for five years but would not age it
