  October 7, 2023 - Vertical of the 2007-2009. Surprisingly, all five tasters agreed on the order: 2008 first, 2007 second, 2009 third.

  Aromas of wet stone and raspberry. Cola with mild raspberry and cherry. Dry, a touch sour. Medium- flavor at opening, opening up to medium later. Better over time, so decant 30-60 minutes if opening now. 91

  Dusty aroma, a touch of earth. A hint of sour cherry on the nose. More body and fruit than the 2007 or 2009. Medium+ body, mouth-coating raspberries and plum with a touch of cocoa. 94+

  Funk on the nose, reminding me of an old-world wine. Raspberry cola, with a hint of minerality. Did not add weight with air, but fruit came forward, as did the funk on the nose. 92

  August 13, 2023 - Selected this from the cellar as my husband is having some kind of palate shift. After drinking wines in Tuscany he doesn’t want anything too fruit forward and wants more complexity. For anyone who knows him, this is very puzzling. But he specifically requested a classic styled Napa cab and I think this delivered.
  Very developed, perhaps not the best provenance for this auction procured bottle. Subtle dark fruits, leather, tobacco. Blind I would have guessed a much older Bordeaux that is starting to lose its fruit. This was excellent right now but on the downslope —but if you have well stored bottles I would not worry so much.

  April 30, 2023 - All that's best about Napa valley Cabernet, without the usual penalties (overextractation, over alcoholic, overly jammy). Quite a wonderful wine that's ready to drink but may have another 5 years in it.
