March 7, 2021 - This wine shows what I love about Burgundy: all the previous comments concluded that it had shot its bolt. But in fact it had been sleeping all the while, and it is now lovely. Really good secondary tastes and giving great evolved pleasures. There are berry fruits and a bit of meatiness. It is long and mouth-filling. Good old fashioned tastes, which I think reflect the excellence of the vintage. Sadly I think that there is a degree of brain-washing out there, thinking that Burgundy is generally a 'quick-fix' wine, and those who drank the wine and were disappointed by it were misled. I too drank bottles of this over the years (e.g. 2013, 2014 for example) and was really underwhelmed, but what to do...... answer: keep a few bottles and see what happens. Patience can be a virtue even in Burgundy.

July 26, 2013 - IPNC Lunches and Dinners; 7/26/2013-7/27/2013 (McMinnville OR): Tasting. Similar to a bottle tried last year in Beaune, this was also reasonably evolved with some moderately firm tannins. Best to drink up.

March 21, 2012 - DIVA Burgundy Tasting; 3/21/2012-3/22/2012 (Maison Champy - Beaune): Wine tasting. Earthy aromas with modest spice. Mature red fruit on palate, time to drink up.

December 22, 2011 - Very fine wine at its peak. Could even have cellared for a few more years, but probably a good time to drink. Some good barnyard on it, jus enough to add complexity without being overpowering as you can get in Burgundy. allied with firm Pinot Noir fruit flavours and a fine acidity. Great with dinner, and on its own. highly recommended.

January 8, 2010 - When poured, this wine had a distinct barnyard nose which dissipated in the glass over time. It had begun to show age in the color of the wine and the lack of fruit on the palate. Probably not a wine we would want to serve.
