February 2, 2024 - Albany Tastevin dinner: Tremendous showing. Stunning aromatics with lots of savoury earthy, truffled, and faintly leathery notes around a core of black and red fruits. Seamless and polished on the palate; there's power here with a sense of restraint and finesse. Drinking beautifully with the tannins pretty much integrated and a beautiful, silken texture.

August 4, 2023 - Chez Winefool Goodbye Dinner (Chicago, IL): 88/90/97 flight. Not as seamless as the profound 90, but this is excellent in its own right with beautiful smoky, earthy aromas and plenty of concentration with slightly gritty structure remaining. In a peak window.

August 4, 2023 - The End of Winefoolishness in Chicago (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Enchanting aromatic start of mature black fruit, braised meat spice. Palate is less complete, more firm and restrained, but with good+ depth even for aged Grand Cru. A little different vs when tasted earlier this year, tonight's bottle was similarly firm but more aromatically charming while less muscular.

January 29, 2023 - Annual Jadot (plus Dau) with Frederic Barnier (RPM Steak): Blind 85/88/90. This had plenty of fruit with some fresh black cherry remaining plus iron, earth and mushroom. Structure is rugged and likely not going anywhere and therefore a feature that will last with the wine. Plenty of fruit now to provide balance and approachability.

January 29, 2023 - Louis Jadot (& Clair-Daü) Dinner with Frédéric Barnier (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Blind in vertical. Less bright than the enchanting 1990, this was powerful and meaty, getting by on muscle rather than finesse.
