November 13, 2021 - Still showed quite deep colored with just a bit of browning at the edges. Earth and tobacco on the nose to start, giving way to showing black fruit starting at about 90 min of opening (no decant just pouring some and following a glass while the bottle got air). Still full on the palate with mostly integrated tannins, but with plenty of grip in the finish along with balancing acidity. It didn't have the lushness of top vintages, but a nice wine which paired well with duck confit and risotto.

June 27, 2021 - Monthly Tasting Group: Bordeaux and Cabs 2009 and Older (Chez Dalluge, MN): Small pour of this tonight. Every bit as good still as previous bottles, the last one tasted 12/2017. Leather, cherry, red fruits, earthy, soil, great stuff in an unappreciated vintage; often words to live by...

April 21, 2021 - Larry and Nancy's Bordeaux Dinner (University Club, Chicago): Pronounced legs. Closed nose. Soft mouthfeel. Palate needed more expression--too reserved.

September 28, 2020 - First experience with this wine, so hard to evaluate where it's at on a curve... from magnum it was singing. Nice fruit, great acidity to balance it out, mild earthy nose. Really in a nice spot.

September 12, 2020 - Bottle opened, poured and left standing for an hour. Initial astringency blew off leaving Leather and spice on the nose. Palate is finely structured with fading fruit but overall drinking well like a classical Bordeaux. At the end of its drinking life and on the decline but pleasure still to be had. Drink up.
