November 14, 2021 - Second Sunday Group: 1990 Burgundies (Neil's): Darker color. Aromas of dark cherry fruit, caramel and something a touch meaty. Quite the contrast to the '01 Remy. A masculine, darker profile on the palate, with black cherry fruit and spice. A good bit of wood spice as well. 89+ pts. (R&D)

November 27, 2015 - little sign of 2003 heat, really in a nice place. Wish I had more

September 14, 2015 - Brief note. PNP. Dark color. Nose and palate unmistakably '03 burgundy. And seemed cotes de nuits. It has that borderline over ripeness that marks the vintage. This was dominated tonight by toasty oak and on the palate was a little disjointed. Would never have guessed chambolle because it lacked any delicacy. If I was drinking again would decant well in advance and hope that the air was kind. Straight out of the chute a little tough right now.

October 26, 2014 - Started out interesting with some smoke, lots of earth, a little barnyard funk and a hint of beautiful black cherry fruit at the core. Unfortunately, after about 20 minutes the fruit became less apparent and the wood more obvious.

January 11, 2014 - My last bottle, and I'd say these are likely not going to get much better, based on my experience at least. A bit discombobulated at first, featuring a pungent and smoky nose of oak, vanilla, and a dose of boysenberry, strawberry, and raspberry. With time, notes of violet, hickory, graphite, egg/poultry, and a potpourri of other barnyard notes emerged as well. In the mouth, it was initially quick acidic and a tad harsh, but this settled into a much smoother mouth feel after about 2 hours, giving way to red fruit flavors and a touch of cocoa/cola. The acidic astringency complicated the finish the whole time (4 hours or so until the last sip). While it did subside, it was always there, and has marked every bottle I've had of this wine. While voluptuous, round, and smooth (give it a couple hours though), I'm not sure this still has positive evolution left (after the 3 hour mark, things became less complex). As others have noted, I'm happy to have polished them off.
