July 23, 2021 - From restaurant wine list with little decant - shockingly good. Perfect seductive nose, great tension and purity. Singing Pinot.

November 8, 2019 - Richebourg 2007 - wasn’t quite PNP, but It didn’t have more than half hour before first taste. Initially quite restrained, with stemmy, minerality and touch of oak on the nose. Served alongside the extravagant 2003, it was overshadowed slightly on initial impression. However with more time, the nose evolved, became more expressive with classic Leroy notes and lovely savoury toasty notes (actually reminded me a little of LC 2011) Undoubtedly more linear and less flamboyant than the 03, but instead it exuded a zen-like balance and ethereal quality. Finishes with real energy and pizazz. Some argued this was better to drink now than the musigny01 - which goes to Show the level this 07 is playing at. I disagreed, but that’s not to take anything away from this Richebourg 07. 97 pts. Bottle no. 218/2121

July 25, 2018 - Wine Dinner # 163 - 2007 Domaine Leroy (Urbane Restaurant, Brisbane): Tasted at the 2007 Leroy dinner. A great counterpoint to the delicious RSV in this flight, the Richebourg demonstrated the robustness of its breed with a similar scented nose of black fruits, violets and spice but with an added earthiness of mushroom and beef stock that was both delicious and warming. The palate was rich with the robustness balanced with plenty of drive and structure that belied the 2007 origins. A wine that kept giving over the evening and will continue to for those fortunate enough to have this in their cellars.

March 3, 2018 - La Paulée de SF Gala Dinner (Fairmont Hotel, SF CA): Another wine where the adjectives just won't provide justice. Sensational and striking nose with intense spice, sweet red and black cherry. Aromas are endless. The palate is so rich and creamy yet lithe. More intense, persistent spice and smoke notes throughout. Wow.
