August 9, 2015 - A Tour de Force Steve Clifton Tasting (Los Olivos, CA): Also very cloudy in the glass, like its 1999 Santa Rita Hills brethren. More vegetal than the SRH, displaying earthy notes of mushroom and stewed fruit. Loads of acidity. Fades on the rear palate.

July 7, 2006 - This was quite confusing. Upon opening there was very, very little going on. Nose was muted, palate was flat. Disappointing. If it stayed this way, I would have said it was totally dead. After nearly an hour in the glass it started to open up a bit. Some nice cherry and earthy tone on the nose, but still fairly flat. I have a couple left which makes me nervous but we'll just decant one for an hour or so next time to see if more air gets it going. It may just be dead....

April 4, 2006 - So interesting how different I thought this was than the last person's note. I really enjoyed it. Lots of cherry and strawberry notes with great acidity. Drank with a piece of grilled kampacki in a soy, orainge glaze

October 4, 2004 - This wine is how you forget a '91 DRC Romanee St. Vivant from last night...but not in any good way. Nose of cabbage, rotting vegetables, fallen leaves and cotton candy. Perhaps this is the sweetness of decay that people speak of? On the palate, weird anonymousberry Kool-Aid taste combines with bruised peaches. Dries out on the short finish. You can certainly tell it is Pinot Noir, but what a bizarre one it is. There was one good thing about drinking this wine - I don't have any more left.
