August 21, 2023 - Drinking very nice. Still firm, yet resolved tannins. Rich fruit. Bit of menthol. Still quit young for 29.

January 15, 2023 - Candied fruit - unbalanced. I probably held it way too long.

October 15, 2022 - Crazy to read the notes from eight or ten years ago and this was a total fruit bomb. Well, let me tell you it has developed nicely, and although it isn't quite the powerhouse it was a few years back, it is very much alive. Dark fruited, velvety and long. It is much more elegant and restrained now. Definitely a charmer.

June 19, 2021 - Rhone / Barossa Comparisons (London): Dark red. Spicy aroma. Really bright cherry fruit, luscious texture, but with a lightness and delicate touch of acidity. Mellow, earthy, spicy aftertastes. Exquisitely balanced. Interesting to taste after a 94 Hermitage. This was the lighter wine. Not decanted, but bottle opened for two hours in advance.

February 6, 2021 - Purple core with lightening at the rim. Brambly dark fruit and spice with some tertiary elements creeping in on the nose. Surprising energy still with some good lift on the mid-palate and a grippy finish. Not the precocious fruit bomb it was in its youth, but more a gracious senior citizen. While it won't improve further it was still vital and enjoyable.
