June 14, 2019 - A little bretty, but very nice texture and still drinking well.

April 29, 2013 - A private lunch (Restaurant l'Arpège ***, Paris, France): Silky, wonderful depth, good weight of ripe black fruit, hint of stables, lifted white pepper notes, excellent typicity, lovely freshness ("croquant", the sommelier said) and minerality, good tannic grip, lovely length. A wonderful expression of its grape, vintage and terroir.

December 23, 2012 - Brick red colour, paler at rim. Wonderful blackcurrant aroma, good fruit and length. Mature.

January 15, 2012 - Very good. Nice nose with plenty of violets and gravel notes. Seems like a hint of oak and bell pepper. Lean towards dark red fruits with still firm tannins on the finish. Even though this Bourgueil is firm, it is rather light, especially compared to the riper and bigger 2005.

June 1, 2010 - A wine of two halves. Started out with nice aromas but lots of oak too, which dominated with food. Showed decent length and ripe tannins. After 2 hours this was much better. Though still dark, the fruit was winning over the oak. There was something Burgundian in the mouthfeel. A slight chewiness developed as the supple tannins melted into the structure. The acidity came through more. I'll leave my other bottles, rest for 3-4 years.
