April 6, 2024 - Birthday party (Chicago, IL): From magnum. Not a big fan of this -- it seems to have dried out quite a bit and there's just a husk and lots of acid left. Gone is the pretty red fruit I would have expected from this producer and vintage; my pessimism on the 2008 vintage may well be coming to fruition here.

December 9, 2023 - Pop and pour . drunk over a few hours.

A red fruited, pretty nose with some moss, spice, pomegranate and cooing herbal notes. Midweighted and savory as much as fruit driven with nice earth notes, good acid balance. Finely detailed with subtle intensity delivered with a graceful touch. Lovely understated wine that is drinking well already. I doubt it will val off anytime soon, but I also don't see why you need to wait.

February 11, 2023 - PNP. Pale red, showing some sous bois, cherry and strawberry aromas on the nose. Palate is lithe and pure, light extraction, no wood and moderate energy. Seems older, more like a wine from 00 than 08, and finishes slightly clenched. Very enjoyable and ready to go.

    February 5, 2023 - Tasted over 2 hrs
    -nearly semi-translucent mild bricking
-expressive nicely ripe black cherry faint sous bois
-med+ acidity, med/med- weight faded pretty high-toned black cherry earth, med/med- tannins
-a little more concentrated and a bit less shrill if not that much more complex than the village

May 27, 2022 - Tasted the 2008 (92pt) and 2009 (90pt) side by side. The 2008 had the edge tonight. It was more precise and crisp without being lean as some of the 2008 are. Overall the wines were nice and elegant with red fruit and some spices dominating but there was no wow Burg factor for sure.
