October 13, 2023 - Ca pinotte! Gorgeous aromatic nose, lifted but serious, tart cherries, strawberries and meaty earthiness. Herbal complexity. Lovely depth of fruit, black cherry. Beginnings of secondary development.
Crunchy stone fruit character on the palate. A quality I’ve always associated with 02s. Rich, broad, expansive on the palate but still elegant and perfectly balanced.
This is a knockout: absolutely delicious. Starting to develop but very youthful, years ahead of it.

September 29, 2023 - Perfect drinking window, expressive and complex

May 20, 2023 - Cinnamon and other spices weave in and out in the nose, which also shows lovely red fruit and the beginnings of a dried leaf and forest floor character. Balanced, expressive, pungent, just excellent wine, with a truly long and dynamic finish. Not the elegance that one finds in the best examples of chambolle. That’s not a fault, it’s just an observation.

February 4, 2023 - So much more chalky than I’d ever expect from Chambolle-Musigny. Cranberry bite and herbal presence — really a fresh spiced berry blend. This is as nuanced as they come. @ Chambers

November 13, 2022 - Opened for a birthday dinner. Generally as beautiful as I remember it, though maybe showing just a touch more advanced than a bottle a year ago. Sexy Mugneret Gibourg oak, sappy beautiful red fruit. Someone on the table called this a Mugneret-Gibourg blind - this wine isn't fooling anyone, and that's for the best. 2002 really begins a beautiful run for this house that shows no sign of ending.

(Mugneret-Gibourg Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru "Feusselottes") This stuff was just singing tonight. Extremley high-toned floral nose that hit all the right spots. Pure, cherry, black cherry, mineral and a cacophany of complex floral notes that went into Krazor land after it had been properly aerated in my glass for about an hour and half. The palate was creamy and ripe with good weight and extremeley impressive depth. Great concentration and length with excellent flavor hierarchy. Lovely stuff and has a ways to go to reach its apogeee.

(Mugneret Dr Georges Chambolle-Musigny les Feusselottes) Similar depth of colour to the 2001, but the shade is more cherry-red. A deep nose again, this time a little more coffee-infused with a hint of blood-orange - more things to find, but less focused. Very different style on the palate - the length of finish is comparable, but it's no crescendo, this wine starts as it ends - full-speed - starting much wider than the 2001. The finish is long but currently a little saccharin. There's just a little more material - but not necessarily better material. Today I'd much rather drink the 01 (it's that saccharin thing, I also don't like Cola-Lite), longer-term my cellar is keeping an open mind despite retaining an emphasis on 2001...
