November 30, 2010 - Harry Karris and co at Againn (Againn, Washington DC): A far more restrained and delicate wine, one which demands concentration and focus (so not the best setting for a row tasting of 12+ reds). Lots of herbal and cherry notes blended with delicate mint, garrigue and sous bois. This wine was still restrained and needed a few more years to unclench its fist.

November 30, 2010 - Chateauneuf-du-Pape Dinner with Harry Karis (Againn, Washington DC): Relatively reserved nose of cherries, coffee, and cassis. Felt that this one didn't show all too well when drank alongside the 1990 Beaucastel - just not in the same class. Despite its brutish cohort, the wine had a very elegant form that was quite nice. Great floral component to the palate.
