Community Tasting Notes 5

January 21, 2020 - Nesli's grp at Jo Jo Taipei.
Double decanted about 4 hrs earlier, served at ~55F. It opened up some compared to when first opened.
Quite dark, about the same color as a 2005 LdH Tondonia Blanc served after it.
Very dry, not about fruit, nice texture. Some nuttiness, mainly on the nose. More interesting that pleasurable. A 2010 that happened to be brought to the same dinner was a whole different thing, bright and fruity

August 21, 2014 - Verticale Musar (Restaurant al Sad, Choueir): Robe jaune or, soutenue.
    Nez discret, notes de tilleul.
Vif, harmonieux, belle amertume en bouche et une bonne droiture.

December 19, 2009 - A gift that must not have been well stored. Removed the capsule and the cork almost fell in the bottle. Oxidized. Too bad as I was looking forward to this.

December 10, 2005 - WLDG Cincinnati (Cumin): Gorgeous nose with smoke, flowers, myrrh. Very flush and giving on the palate with typical Musar Blanc dustiness and fine minerality, entered into salinity. Just goes and goes with more notes being revealed - silk, pollen, quince. Gorgeous wine with great depth and complexity. (This was double-decanted earlier in the day and really took flight from this.) Outstanding with lamb shanks and lamb chops.

May 2, 2003 - Lovely colour, old-fashioned, fascinating and nuanced, a cross between Burgundy and Rioja Reserva but with less oak.
