Community Tasting Notes 8

  • Lord of the Bottles Does not like this wine:

April 17, 2018 - At Acker's Wine Workshop Chambolle-Musigny Terroir Tasting at the Michaelangelo NY. Herbal green nose. Herbal wood palate. Bittersweet finish. I really did not like this.

April 10, 2018 - This nose is fresh, bright, and sweet red berry fruit with a mild cola spice on top. Some juicy blackberry. This is pretty and expressive. This palate is powerful and rich but the fruit is a little punchy and the tannins are still striking. The modern Meo heavy-handedness in terms of wood is detectable and off-putting here.

February 3, 2016 - Medium bodied, fresh Chambolle. Juicy forest fruits, earth and toasty oak. Drink.

December 17, 2015 - Great color and nose of iodine, dark fruit. Well integrated tannins for a still young wine. Interestingly this wine evolved over 2 hours into sweet red fruit with great structure and balance. Overall a very good wine.

September 24, 2015 - La Paulée Meets Chicago - Dinner (Blackbird - Chicago IL): Small taste, brief note. Similar fruit to the Cras in the next glass, but less nuanced textures so I found this slightly less interesting.
