Community Tasting Notes 5

April 22, 2011 - Needed a wine that could pair a number of courses from a tasting menu and this managed with aplomb. Starting to come into its own, opening up readily but continuing to develop in the glass. Betraying the same intriguing complexity of previous bottles but no probably yet to peak.

January 3, 2011 - A shame to open it as it's plainly developing still. As one might expect given the grapes listed (and many others not listed but which are represented in smaller quantities) there is a great deal "going on". Different characteristics revealed as the wine opened up in the glass, with peach and honey as well as solid acidity and citrus among others. Another couple of years and this will be cracking.

July 20, 2010 - Interesting, but strangely unbalanced. Citrus, and complex herbs with a strong straw-oak finish.

July 16, 2010 - TWERPS World Cup Blind Tasting (La Cave a Fromage, London): Oily, rich, unenjoyable.

March 23, 2010 - Swig Wine Tasting (Intercontinental Hotel, London): Lots of stuff going on here - great nose of flint, minerals, complexity - strong sense of terroir here. Deep fruit on the palate - long lingering finish. Very very good.
