May 28, 2012 - Lots of citrus, grass, and tropical fruit aromas on the nose. Well-chilled the wine demonstrated its acidity and minerality. As it warmed a bit, the tropical fruit flavors and more rounded mouth-feel emerged.

November 11, 2011 - Clear yellow with medium viscosity in the glass. Oak and citrus on the nose. Ditto the palate, despite seeing no oak or MLF. Secondary melon. Medium finish. Meh.

September 3, 2010 - Fiddlehead Winery Tasting (Fiddlehead winery tasting room): Tasted at the winery. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of gooseberries, lime, apricot and kumquat. Flavors of lime and grapefruit. Medium acidity, light body. Drink over the short term. 89+

July 8, 2010 - Tasted at room temperature after decanting about 5 hours. The nose had tropical fruit and stone, a little white flower and citrus, and a touch of grassiness at the end. The palate was crisp and clean, with nice tropical fruit and minerals, some citrus and floral notes, and a slightly grassy finish.

April 22, 2010 - Fiddlehead wine dinner (Jujube in Chapel Hill): On the nose this 100% stainless aged SB is intensely grassy with lemon, grapefruit, white pepper and maybe a bit of nutmeg. The nose is actually pretty bold and dramatic and without any cat pee aromas. It follows with very tart flavors, lime, grass and something aromatic. This went very well with the raw grouper with lime dish. The dish really rounded out the tartness that was a bit much without food.

At a Fiddlehead dinner at Jujube in Chapel Hill, owner/winemaker Kathy Joseph called this her "New Zealand" SB which is about right. On the other hand she described it as "tropical with papaya and peach, not grassy" which I didn't get at all. One hates to disagree with the winemaker but I calls 'em like I sees 'em.

Very nice and the SO bought 2 but a bit pricey at $35/btl.
