Fiddlehead Winery Tasting

Fiddlehead winery tasting room

Tasted September 3, 2010 by wineismylife with 425 views

Introduction

Our fourth tasting stop today was at Fiddlehead in the Lompoc "Wine Ghetto". There are now almost 14 wineries operating tasting rooms in the wine ghetto which is nothing more than an aged industrial park with box warehouse facilities lined up like a deck of cards. The tasting staff on duty today was very friendly, knowledgeable and personable. I believe tasting fees are $10.00 per person for a tasting of 8-10 wines but beforehand we made arrangements for our tasting through our buddy T-Bone who very graciously arranged to have our tasting fees waived. We tasted our way through three of their Sauvignon Blancs first with the l'Overt clearly coming in first and the Happy Canyon coming in second. We then tasted our way through four Pinot Noirs, all coming in right at the 90 point mark, maybe varying by one point either direction.
