October 19, 2021 - Even after this many years, teh wine needs a long decant. Deep, rich blood red. Little bricking. Nose is a bit alcoholic and as with past few bottles, dominated by cherries. There is a moderate heat to the wine, as it is alcoholic and highly extracted. The candied, “drunken” cherries are rather assertive. Hints of other dark fruits, but not enough to give real complexity or depth. This wine has held up remarkably well for what it is.

October 3, 2020 - PNP, blackberry jam and to my amazement more blackberry jam, so smooth, did I mention blackberry jam!

February 23, 2019 - Decanted with a fair amount of sediment, brandy nose, plenty of ripe black berry fruit on the palate, the finish is a bit hot and astringent. This was bottle number ten of twelve,at nearl a decade old not going to get any better, once the fruit is gone this boxer will be knocked out.

December 6, 2017 - Crazy sediment, make sure you let it sit for a bit after the Mollydooker shake. Pretty and full on night one, showing a nice age on night two. Blueberry and vanilla on the nose. Palate is lush and silky with vanilla, blueberry, anise, and a hint of green-ness on the back end. The finish is euphoric with berries and still a note of tannins. Drinking well now, but actually has a few more years to go. 09 was the vintage they didn't produce premium and blended it all into the base cuvees, this is showing those high end notes.
