March 26, 2024 - High-end Rhone Dinner at a friend's house. (Hollywood): Deep gold color. Gasoline, tropical fruit and spice on the nose. Full body, quite spicy on the palate. Long finish.

August 20, 2020 - From a 375ml at cellar temp while waiting for a wildfire evacuation status update in the hills above Santa Cruz. Spent the day transferring most of the cellar to a safer location, left this behind to chill with tonight. Rich nuttiness dominates the entire experience. Fabulous example of what CdP blancs can develop with age. If this wasn't the last in my cellar I'd wait a couple more years before opening the next one to see where it goes - not expecting "improvement" but "more interesting."

November 13, 2018 - Ripe apple, tarragon, burnt nuts. A little yeast. Overall very bright. Beautiful and fully mature white CDP

May 8, 2018 - Very pleasant. Unctuous, light sherry quality. In the right context/accompaniment, a fine wine. B+

November 15, 2008 - Either I had a better bottle, or more likely, a higher tolerance for the unusual character of the wine. This was our election night tipple, so that could have factored into the equation as well. I was shocked at how young and fresh it showed, given where the regular version of this has been in my last couple of tries. Medium gold, but with plenty of minerality to frame what remains of the fruit.

(Beaucastel Chateauneuf-du-Pape Roussanne "Vieilles Vignes") This was interesting but ultimately too low in acidity for me to enjoy. I mean there was like zero acidity on this wine. Flavors were tropical and there were some interesting mineral notes but ultimately (sorry Jacques) this was the flabbiest wine I have ever had. Like a Picasso without a frame. Very interesting material but it falls way flat.
