March 21, 2024 - tasted blind, Fuees vs Charmes, Chambolle, listen up.
nose-sour red fruit, cranberry , orange peel
mouth - lovely bitter red fruit, fresh, a tad herbal, sweet cherry, tutti fruiti, much more mellow than the '20 i had recently. fuees but i guessed charmes because its oh so charming. here the producer signature trumps

February 7, 2023 - Opened at Otto e Mezzo in HK. Slow-oxed for 3 hours before enjoying over dinner.

This was absolutely fantastic - all Mugnier charm with a wonderful nose dominated by red fruits and floral characteristics. Hiding beneath the Chambolle elegance there was a lot of structure there, meaning that I was very happy to have allowed the wine to breathe for a few hours before serving.

In a great spot right now, so I wouldn't hesitate to drink, but this will keep for a while. Thanks to G for sharing!

November 26, 2022 - Long, penetrating and complete. Great balance, evolved but years to go, medium bodied and not large but deep. Ripe but not overripe red fruit, spice and very long. Something to savor, not at all showy.

August 10, 2021 - Sensational nose of black cherries & raspberries, flowers, spice. Lush and ripe on the palate but with a streak of minerals and acidity to keep it fresh. Finishes intense and focussed with fine dusty tannins and good length. Lovely wine: pure pleasure now, will get better as it develops secondary characteristics.

April 3, 2021 - Gorgeous in the nose. Real intensity of aromas. Deep morello cherry. Almost candied cherry. Dare I say it, a hint of new world? But no, sufficient complexity and minerality to bring me back to burgundy. Has more complexity than last bottle six months ago. More savoury profile vs sweet fruits.
Great balance on the palate. Dark red fruits. Savoury on mid palate and finish. Very silky. Not heavy at all. Fully integrated tannin for my palate.
Long finish. I don’t think 2009 seen as the best for this domaine, but this bottle gave lots of pleasure.
