Community Tasting Notes 4

    March 1, 2016 - Decent, but didn't impress in a trio that included the 98 and 06 L'Inedit.

August 18, 2007 - Another fantastic wine brought by Fred to the Slanted Door. On the nose, the tell-tale petrol along with a hint of tropical fruit. Clearly defined tastes on the palate. The attack seemed more white fruit; the mid-palate was honey-like with some spice and a very nice finish. I've tried other Alsace rieslings, Dirler and Trimbach are the only ones I can think of right now, and didn't like them. Dry riesling tastes sour to me. I think with age and a well balanced wine like this, the experience was a lot different.

June 5, 2005 - OL At panos and Edith (Strasbourg): I absolutely loved this one, with aromas of honey, spices, cinnamon in particular, pain d'epices and an incredibly refined attack and mid palate with a long, complex finish. Excellent balance. Fantastic wine.

June 5, 2005 - A selection of Weinbach wines with Laurence Faller (Strasbourg, France): Petrol notes on the nose but more importantly all the aromas seem to be perfectly merged/integrated together. The keyword here is harmony. As usual very well balanced overall with great finesse with aromas of flowers, anis/fenouilh (?) and botrytis flavors. What is striking here is that it is not as powerful as the 94 but for me it is more compelling due to the fact that everything seems to fall perfectly into place.
