July 27, 2023 - Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: 3 Guys, educational wines (@home): Glass: Zalto Universal
Popped and poured, tasted blind on day one, drunk over three days.
Clear, deep golden color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. Fresh, still some citrus, honey, spices, ripe stone fruit, floral. Quite massive.
On the palate it reveals that it is a massive Auslese. Sweet, dense, creamy, almost oily. But also with a racy acidity, that struggles with taming the sweetness. Lots of ripe fruit, honey, spices. Dense, deep, complex, massive, almost mouth coating, long, spicy, fruity-sweet finish. Drinks great now, but will survive at least another decade. 92

May 7, 2023 - Showing similar to my last bottle 3 years ago. Intense, ripe, pretty sweet but with incredible acidity providing lots of tension. I love that interplay of smokey botrytis, high acidity and beautifully balanced sweetness. This still has quite a few years ahead. Lovely.

May 6, 2023 - Coronation party. Amber color, botrytis nose and richness on the palate reminding me of a Sauternes. Apricot, smoke, but luckily with much more acidity than a Sauternes.

October 22, 2022 - Deep golden with amber hue. Melon, brown sugar, blood oranges, spices, mangos and miinerals. For the mighty, yet balanced palate (with the exception that for many wine lovers it may be to sweet) the nose is a bit tight and of low intensity. On the palate it is intense, yet keeping the balance of sweetness and acidity, at least for my personal taste. I never had a wine with such bottle variation. This one is excellent to oustanding again showing all the nuances, complexity and play one could expect because of its pedigree. Long fruity finish. 5/12/18/8. -2026

August 9, 2020 - Intense sweet quince on the palate with a bit of a waxy texture. Frankly a few more years to shed the sweetness should help.
